Further to the Chancellor’s spring statement renewable / low carbon heating systems such as Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHPs) are now zero-rated for VAT.
The 0% VAT rate is designed to further encourage homeowners to switch from fossil fuelled boiler systems to low carbon heating solutions as part of the UK target reduction in emissions.
The zero VAT rate for ASHP installations is schedule to remain in place for five years.
The zero-rated VAT on ASHP installations is designed along with other incentives such as the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) to encourage homeowners to switch from fossil fuelled boiler systems to low carbon solutions.
