Essential guide to the Domestic RHI

 

The Government has announced the long awaited, ground-breaking Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive. This will be open for applications from Spring 2014.

The domestic RHI will considerably increase the uptake of renewable heat technologies in homes across the country to help meet carbon reduction target. This is great news for social housing and individual homeowners, particularly those off the gas grid.

  • Tariff rate will be 7.3p/kWh for air-to-water heat pumps
  • Applicable to MCS accredited products such as Altherma installed by MCS installers
  • Available for Social Housing, private homes and self build
  • Available for eligible installations completed since 15th July 2009 subject to criteria
  • Available for eligible installations completed since 15th July 2009 subject to criteria
  • Payments will be for 7 years, paid quarterly in arrears.
